I was surprised last year when Max 2024 was released. I didn't download and install it on the day of the release but I did so the same week. I was pleasantly surprised when I came here and the drivers had been updated for it already. I had assumed that would be the new normal and was excited about that.

Maybe they are having some issues this year or last year was just an anamoly. It's possible that the code for Max 2024 was nearly identical to Max 2023. Maybe Max 2025 is a new recompile and a lot has changed such that it's not as simple.

I wish they'd let us download "nightly builds" and use at our own risk. V-Ray is doing that now and it's really great so that we can start to implement the new version and features of Max right away.

I guess the 3ds Max SDK broke a lot of stuff (as expected). But apparently autodesk changed a lot of stuff for 2025 so I hope these guys can get a driver out soon.

You would think Autodesk would provide the necessary data to partners like this way ahead of time. If they get the release the same time we do I can see how they have to scramble and play catch-up to crank out an updated driver.

3DConnexion has been better in the past few years. They used to take months to get a new driver out. Now it seems it's usually less than a month. Who knows, we'll just have to be patient.
