Spacemouse Pro Wireless Keeping Ventura Awake

Post by jesse.art »

Not sure if this is a widespread issue or not but I just setup the new Mac Pro with the M2 chip and Ventura and am having an issue with my Spacemouse Pro keeping the system from sleeping. It will try but after a few seconds is awakened and the cycle repeats endlessly.

I spent time troubleshooting and have it narrowed down to the SM. Due to the wireless issues on Mac I keep it plugged into a USB cable all the time but it's when I unplug it that the system will finally sleep. As soon as I plug it back in the system awakes the cycle begins. Unplug it, and it sleeps; and on and on and on.

I've got a similar problem with my Spacemouse Pro Wireless on OS 14.1 (Sonoma).

I keep the Spacemouse connected via Bluetooth, but if I forget to turn it off before putting the computer to sleep, it will periodically wake up the computer. I haven't determined if there's a regular pattern to it, like the device is periodically "pinging" the system, but it happens about once an hour.

At any rate, I'd add another vote for the device driver to be deactivated while the system is sleeping.

Other than that, this is a great device!
