<DONE> SpaceNavigator Driver - Mouse Joystick Keyboard

Hi,

just tried to install the driver at onother laptop, which gave me a BSOD on step b4, which could be reproduced. Then a closer look at the "Device Manager" showed that there's a "HID-compliant device" and "USB Human Interface Device", both appearing/hiding when plugging in/out the SpaceNavigator (which is btw the simplest way to identify the correct device to update the drivers). Then I disabled the "HID-compliant device" and the installation worked well. After installation this device was enabled again.
Maybe it's because I installed also Acrobat3D-, SketchUp-Plugin and 3DxOffice-Drivers.

I hope that'll help someone facing the same problem.

could test this for me ?

1) download FadeToBlack.rar here : http://rbc.duckinegg.com/

2) unplug ur device

3) copy the RBC9-SpaceNav.sys file in ur Windows\system32\drivers directory. replace the old file

4) create a dir and copy there all the file from "Dbugview archive

5) start Dbgview.exe

6) plug ur device

7) SAve the log file in Dbgview.exe

Also got a SpacePilot i can't get to work.... also hangs on driver install until you touch the SP. It is then listed in Device Manager as 'Not working properly'. Unplugging and replugging the SP from the usb fixes this but as soon as you touch anything the SP disconnects.

I install the FadeToBlack debug version and here sthe log. The disconnection at the end is immediately after touch the controls.

Hope this helps get things working witht he SpacePilot!

This is a really great driver, but I had to stop using it as Photoshop started acting very strange. It refused to open files and other bugs. When I uninstalled the driver it functioned normaly again.

Has anybody else noticed this bug or any idea of a workaround maybe?

Hi!

This seems to be a wonderful tool! However I have problems with installing it. I run XP Pro (Tablet PC Edition) Service Pack 2. When I am in the "Edit Layout" screen, in the Bind tab, there is just an empty box with "Bind To" and "Comment", there are no other rows in that box, or any other controls in the "Bind" tab. Is there anything I could do or check?

Note: In spite of my user name, I actually run a SpaceNavigator PE.

I just got my new toy (SpacePilot) and wanted to use your driver. However I'm having the same problems as FadeToBlack and others.

I noticed another strange thing. Even if the driver installs successfully no keyboard/mouse/joystick apears. However the config app is able to read buttons and positions .... until reboot. After reboot only the RBC9 driver is there and the regular "HID compliant Device" driver is missing. So it doesn't even work the the 3dconnexion software at that point ... until I uninstall the RBC9 driver.

I installed it yesterday to give it a try. With the documentation it was very straightforward to install, I played with it for a little while and then uninstalled it to go back to using the regular 3DxWare.

Didn't have any issues at all.

What device did you use?

I used SpacePilot and have similar issues as mentioned before with SpacePilot's

Errorcode 10, after a long waiting period and second attempt.

Any Luck on the Space Pilot Driver? I have tired to install it also and have I had the same results.

I am running xp pro sp2 USA version

Here is how I tried to install Driver

1. Uninstall 3dconnexion software and drivers
2. Uninstall RBC9 Software and Drivers
3. Check Driver and INF folder to make sure RBC9 Driver is removed
4. Reboot Computer
5. Install RBC software by double clicking on RBC9 - SpaceNav.msi file
6. Plug in Space Pilot
7. Go to Device Manager
8. Update Driver by selecting device usb Human Interface Device with id USB\VID_046D&PID_C625\5&30BFDA7F&0&2

9. Select RBC9 Spacepilot mousjoykey v2 from list
10. Installation hangs on HID.dll you have to touch spacepilot to get it to stop install
11. Device gives error code 10 and shuts off
12. Open RBC9 software gives error indicating space pilot not found

No mouse or joystick are ever created in device manager.

Am I doing something wrong or is it just not working yet.

Although I do see the following:
[*]The SpacePilot USB HID is now traded for RBC9 SpacePilot MouJoyKey v2
[*]I do seem to have an extra keyboard (since I have 2 connected + the spacepilot and count 3 keyboards)
[*]No extra mouse neither an joystick or something as far I can tell

But seems promissing! Is it already available as 'open source' somewhere, so more people can jump in?
