Maya 2009 SP1 on WinXP 32bit

Post by tloomis »

3DxMaya.mll plugin returns //Error: Plug-in, "3DxMaya" was compiled against too old a version of the Mata API and is thus incompatible with the current Maya version. (3DxMaya)

...in Maya 2009 SP1. Any time frame on a recompilation against this new version?....Tim

Hi,

it seems you are using the wrong plugin. The Plug-in for Maya2009 can be found under

Code: Select all

C:\Program Files\3Dconnexion\3Dconnexion 3DxSoftware\3DxMaya2009
You can just copy 3DxMaya.mll to "bin\plug-ins" - then it should work.

Thanks, Robert. The error now is Cannot find procedure "_3DxOnMotionEvent". I seem to be running around something fundamental.

Ahh...I have to run MagellanStartup; from the editor each time. I need to find the preferences change that looks for userstartup.mel when firing off Maya 2009. Thanks....

Should you have a usersetup.mel in your user local directory then MagellanStartup will not have executed. To have MagellanStartup
automatically execute when Maya is started then add the line

MagellanStartup;

to your usersetup.mel
