3Dconnexion as mouse

Post by ranc80 »

Hi,

i would like to use the 3Dconnexion mouse as a simple HID mouse to put in a car. i need it to be placed with no drivers (as in any mouse) because it needs to be for a windows CE machine that i can't install drivers at (but a regular mouse is working). is it hard to do?, is there a program i can use and just install on the 3Dconnexion mouse?. i am very much new to this, i have no idea how such thing can be done.

Thanks and Best Regards,
Ran Cohen.

There are some people who have gotten this to work on a carpc. Search this forum and the carpc forum. I think you will have to install some sort of driver though.

Thank you jwick for the reply,

i have looked at the carpc. i am not sure but i think it requires changing the drivers in windows. can i even change the actual "3Dconnexion mouse" hardware?, it seems to me all i can do is change the windows drivers and software, do i have access to the actual mouse?

Thanks again and Best Regards,
Ran Cohen.

This would have to be done through software.

That's correct. That would require a fairly large firmware change.
