Hi torniaccio,

We need to know more about your configuration. What operating system do you have? Note that the "3Dconnexion Picture Viewer" application is only available for Windows XP SP2 (32-bit build).

Hi torniaccio,
My os is a Windows Xp Pro 2002 sp2!
This is fine The application is supported on this operating system.

We need to check what else may be amiss.

In Windows Explorer, right-click on an image file, select "Open With" and verify if "3Dconnexion Picture Viewer" is available on the list. Let us know what you find in there.

- windows image & fax viewer
- ACDSee (viewer)
- Paint
- Adobe photoshop CS
- Autocad application
- Microsoft picture manager
- Installation tool for 3d connexion picture viewer (but this one it is here because I've already tried to link jpg images whith something in the 3dx folders)

Hi torniaccio,

The installation is not correct. Try the following procedure:
  1. Login as an administrator;
  2. Uninstall all 3Dconnexion software;
  3. Reboot the system;
  4. Reinstall 3DxSoftware (the latest version for your device can be downloaded from here). During the install, select "Custom" and check if "3Dconnexion Picture Viewer" is selected for install. Make sure you leave all the default options unchanged.
  5. Open Windows Explorer, select an image file and check the "Open With" list again.

I'm sorry, but it doesn't work!!
I've tried lot of time, using your tip sequence, but ... nothing to do.I've also tried to uninstall the ACDsee Viewer but it doesn't work.

The "open with" window doesn't show the right program. And there is not a selectable program from th 3dx folders that work with!

Please help me.

Ciao Roberto.

This probably unrelated. Terminate all applications, right-click on the driver system tray icon and select "Update Wizard". Once the update has completed, start the driver and run AutoCAD.

Hi torniaccio,

right-click on an image file at Windows Explorer, select "Open With", and then select "Choose Program...". Is there the enty "3Dconnexion Picture Viewer"?
If not did you try to open an image file within the Windows Explorer?

- create a folder with some image files;
- select these folder within the Explorer;
- right click on this folder and choose "Properties";
- choose tab "Customize";
- at the Combo- Box "What kind of folder do you want" select "Photo
Album (best for fewer files)"
- close the dialog via the "OK" button;

On the right side of the Explorer you should see the "3Dconnexion Picture Viewer" with Thumbnails at the bottom of the window.
Is it possible to manipulate the View (of course you have to select one by clicking on the Thumbnail) with "SpaceNavigator" ?
How many Buttons do you see at the bottom of the gray window just above the Thumbnails?

Ciao

Hi guys,

I'm sorry Wolfgang, but it doesn't work!
I don't see any 3dx icon! When I open the picture, on the tray icons, the 3dx icon tells me that he is working with "3dx ware for windows explorer".

When I'm on my notebook at home (and there 3dx pict. viewer work) the same icon tells me that he is working with "3dx picture viewer".
:cry:

Ciao Roberto
