FYI, installed 3DxWare64_v10-6-4. Began having viewport display problems in Maya 2018, 2019, 2020. Geometry stopped appearing in the viewport of all 3 versions. Redshift crashed when testing render. Windows 10

Rolled back to 3DxWare64_v10-6-0 and all is fine again.

Hi rwilliams23,

We do have support for Maya 2020 and everything is functioning in terms of plugin functionality. In regards to redshift crashing, they didn't upgrade there plugin to support Maya 2020 so it will crash automatically. We could recommend reaching out to them for further assistance.

You could uncheck auto-load plugin for redshift in Maya in order to eliminate the crash from happening
- Click on Windows|Settings/Preferences|Plugin Manager|Uncheck the option for redshift mll

Hi Abdul,
It seems that you may be working for 3dconnexion. Is that right?
In that case I want to make sure you know that the plugin for Maya is broken for the last couple of versions of the drivers. Geometry with construction history won’t show in the viewport and maya files can take an extremely long time to open.
As maya 2020 is only supported on the last driver it means there’s no good version of the maya plugin to fall back to.

So your statement “ We do have support for Maya 2020 and everything is functioning in terms of plugin functionality." is far from correct.

Please have a look into it. Thanks

Hi Sirpiltrafus,

Thanks for the updates in regards to this issue. Can you please send me the steps in order for me to reproduce the issue on my end?
We would love to test it and see if its something related to our plugin or something else.
If you could also include some screenshots or a video showing the process then that would be helpful.

Will be waiting for some updates on your end.

Abdul,
do you work for 3dconnexion? I just don't see any credentials.
To be honest I find your copy and paste responses to this issue very... lacking. There are at least three posts explaining the various problems with the Maya plugin. I understand that it would be easier to see for you if we all created videos and send you files. But your copy paste response just to say that you will be waiting for extra material instead of turning Maya on and test it for yourself... well, its just not what I expect to hear from the support team.
Are you asking for proof of the problem on behalf of 3dconnexion?

I've already sent this issue to support. Vlad (via Aleksandra) has it plus a demo scene ... here's a copy of my email to them.
TLDR. The issue is related to the construction history. Disable and then reenable one of the construction nodes to get your geometry back.

------------------------------------
Hi Aleksandra
Please find attached the scene that demonstrates the problem.
yetAnotherFatalBug.0006.ma.zip
(12.81 KiB) Downloaded 203 times
I have rolled back the driver to 10.6.0 and that seems to solve the issue.
So the problem seems to be only present in the latest driver 10.6.4.

To see the issue do as follows...

- Open the scene and locate "MISSING_OBJECT" in the outliner.
- If the bug is present for you, that object should seem to have no
vertices.
- Set one of that objects construction nodes (eg "polysplit17") to "has
no effect".
- The object should reappear.

I'm using a spaceexplorer usb (although it should be noted that the device
need not ever be attached to the machine for the bug to manifest. So it
seems clear to me that this is a driver and not a hardware issue)
