Config files for Games, WASD & hotkeys

Post by dpaint »

Anyone out there got any config files to share for popular games, imho there should be a generig joypad or WASD mapping preset built in for example.

Anyone used the controllers as a left/right analog stick or Xbox style controller?

We ship a KeyboardWASDTemplate.xml template file that emulates WASD.
The file needs to be customized for a game (ExecutableName added, etc).
But if you want to dig into the details it's a place to start.
You will get no help from the GUI unfortunately. You have to edit XML files.

Thaks jwick,
I found the xml file, will have a shot editing later.

The new white Control panel 3Dconnexion made is too simplified, the old panel was better.

The file has reference to 'XMLCfgEditor.exe' is that an internal tool 3Dconnexion/you use to build configs for the variouis devices, it would be handy having something like that available even if its not officially supported, making macros and keybinds with a text editors a bit clunky without some docs on the strings & keys

Good to know, I was a little bit lost with that; if I got things right though, you have to do it for each separate game?

Generally you want to do it for each game. It keys off the ExecutableName.
You could modify global.xml, but then you would affect all applications.
