Latest drivers for Space Pilot on Win10

Post by philnolan3d »

I've been noticing that my Space Pilot (not Pro) starting acting funny in 3D-Coat recently, the navigation is extremely sensitive in the panning, I've turned the 3 sliders all the way down and it still moves very fast with the slightest touch. If I turn the main speed down the rotation slows down but the pan is still super sensitive. So I thought I'd update my driver. It seems I'm still on 10.2.9 that I downloaded in 2015. But now it looks like the Space Pilot is no longer supported. That being very disappointing, I wonder if anyone can tell me the latest 3DxWare that supports it and where I might be able to download that? Thanks.

Hi Philnolan3d,

SpacePilot is not supported device which is correct. Regarding the driver, it looks like 3.16.3 is the driver version supported for the SpacePilot device.
You could download the driver by:

- visiting this link to download drivers: https://www.3dconnexion.com/service/drivers.html
- Click on Archived under Additional Software and Drivers
- For the Product Select SpacePilot from the list
- Then hit search
- Pick the operating system you have, then download the driver and proceed

Thanks

Actually 3.16.3 can't be right, the one I'm using is newer, 10.2.9

Hi Phil,

That web site doesn't seem right. I assume you got a released driver after the beta testing was done.

In any case, you probably don't need a new driver. And you can't use the latest few versions because the SP isn't supported.

Is there something wrong with your hardware? Broken spring, bad LED? Do our demos show the same super sensitive behavior?

@PhilNolan3d
I think I am experiencing a similar issue but the fact that they reuse model names through generaitons of the model line is stirring fierce confusion and frustration without any form or method to clarify the issue to a resolve besides my installing 6-8 packages until I find the right one.

I am not sure what is happening at 3dConnexion .. but they're being rather sloppy with their support section leaving people to dig into nonsensical re-used terms on multiple products without differentiation of any form.
