SpaceNavigator - Different serial numbers on device / package / label

Post by stepseldinski »

Hi,

just unpacked my new (not used and not opened) SpaceNavigator. And there are some concerns, if someone tricked me.

Ich was ordering a 3DX-700028. I received a package with the PN 3DX-700028.
The label on the cable close to the usb connector shows P/N 3DX-600028.
Within Windows in the device manager it shows model number 600038.

No I am very confused. What is the meaning of all those numbers? Is there a real labeled 700028 or is it only a firmware thing in a 600028? What is the difference and does someone tricked me?

Regards,
Steffen

Where do you see this number in the Device Manager?

First to your question:

I go under start -> devices and printers -> on the SpaceNavigator -> Properties

Second. I found out here in the forum after searching directly for the numbers a topic, where is written, that the 7000.. numbers are for the packages and the 6000.. numbers are for the devices itself. Strange, but others also had the same combination like me. Device 600028 and on the box 700028. So it seems like it should be like that.
