Spacenavigator points all cameras and target lights to 0,0,0

Post by nufu »

Hi,

When opening a 3dsmax 2016 file from an explorer window:

The file loads and all camera position targets/ies targets etc are all pointing towards 0,0,0 in the scene. We can correct this by selecting everything, nudging slightly and undoing the move and everything will be looking in the correct direction as it should.

When opening 3dsmax first and loading the scene through the program instead (either by using the file menu or dragging into the window) - everything is in the correct position.

It looks like the Spacenavigator drivers aren't loading correctly, or not loading in time and are affecting the scene somehow.

Unplugging the Spacenavigator from the pc and the file loads correctly from windows explorer or from inside 3dsmax.

This has been tested on 2 windows 7 computers with Spacenavigators, using the latest 3dconnexion drivers.

Nudging the scene so it resets to the correct positions only works when we are actively working on the scene. If the pc picks up a network render job, it will render the scene incorrectly.

Any ideas on what to try to sort this?

Thanks.

Hi nufu

Not really: I need somehow to reproduce this.

In the mean time could you switch on logging in the 3dxware driver, repeat the issue case and send the log to me (its %localappdata%\3dconnexion\3dxware\3dxservice.log)

Thanks
