3dxstudio9 64-bit fails to start

Post by Ganymedes »

Hi everyone

(I'm using the Spaceball 5000 USB....Since the SpaceExplorer is supposed to be the replacement for the Spaceball, I assume this is the right forum....)

3dxstudio9 64-bit fails to start - instead I'm given this prompt:

"DLL <F:\3dsmax9\stdplugs\3dxstd.dlu> failed to initialize.
Error code: 14001 - This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem."

Once the rest of the program has loaded, I'm given this prompt:

"-- Type error: Interface method call requires MAXClass, got: undefined."

I have tried reinstalling both 3dxWare and it's plugins and 3ds max 9, without any apparent change. I have another workstation with the 32-bit versions of 3ds max 9 and 3dxWare, and that setup works fine. And I have checked the installed plugin files to check whether the 32-bit version of 3dxstudio9 might have gotten installed instead of the 64-bit version... It's not the same files (...), so it should be the correct ones. The extracted files under the "3DxStudio964"-folder in the installdir matches the files installed for 3ds max 9 64-bit.

So: Has anyone successfully installed and used 3DxStudio9 64-bit, and if so, what's your setup etc. And any advice from the developers would be nice.

Thanks

update: I have now installed 3ds max 9 32-bit on the same workstation as my 64-bit setup. 3DxWare and 3DxStudio9 work as they should...

First, good news! I might get some work done! :) Secondly, it might suggest there's nothing wrong with the installer. I think.

But I'm just speculating. Please fix this asap.

Post by ngomes »

Hi, issue 4214 has been fixed in 3DxStudio9 (x64) v. 4.4.5. The software is now being verified. We are scheduling a point-release of 3DxSoftware on the second week of December that will include 3DxStudio9 (x64) v. 4.4.5 or higher.

3DxStudio9 (x64)

Post by agoenczi »

Hi Jabbermacy,

our new software package (3DxSOftware) includes both the 32 and 64 bit versions of plug-ins. For example the 3DxSoftware_v3-0-9.exe contains both the 3DxStudio9 (32 bit version 4.4.4) and 3DxStudio9 -x64 (64 bit version 4.4.5)
