SketchUP Make

Post by Durahl »

Greetings!

Reading through the Compatibility List I notice SketchUP being one of the Programs.
Does this by any chance include the free Version SketchUP Make as well?

I just redid the installation of the 3DConnexion Software to include SketchUP Software but it doesn't appear to be working.
Am I missing something or is the free Version simply not supported?

Thanks in Advance
Durahl =)

Hello Durahl,

it should work with SketchUp with no issues. But in case you installed SketchUp _after_ you installed the driver you need to make a "Repair" installation of the driver. Otherwise the Plugin for SketchUp would not be installed to the correct place (and loaded).

Let me know what you find out.

As suggested I did a repair Install but that didn't really do much.

I'm not really familiar with using SketchUP Make but the way I've been reading it appears that there needs to be an Extension activated inside SketchUP?
Looking into the Preferences I see no 3DConnexion related Extension:

Could manually installing the Extension do the Job? Where would I find the location of the Folder where the 3DConnexion Installers installs these?

Hello Durahl,

yes, you are right. You should have an entry for 3DxSketchUp there.

Maybe the installation of the plugin failed. Did you get any errors during the installation?

The files for the plugin are in the 3Dconnexion installation folder: "C:\Program Files\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\3DxSketchUp64" (for a 64bit platform). But I am not sure what you need to do to make a manual installation. I will try to find out.

Updated the Drivers with the most recent ones and it's now working.

Looks like just doing a repair Installation wasn't enough :]

Thanks though ;)
