Re: Maya 2013 Component Selection Bug
Thank you for the update. If possible, please be sure to compile everything for compatibility with the latest Maya 2013.5 (extension release) that came out last month.

I downloaded the latest driver yesterday and it still has not fixed this problem.

Hi Valen Wagner,
What problem are you referring, precisely?
Did you install 3DxSoftware v. 3.16.1 or the latest 3DxWare 10 Beta?I downloaded the latest driver yesterday and it still has not fixed this problem.

Re: Maya 2013 Component Selection Bug
I installed 3.16.1
The problem is described in my original post:
-Open Maya 2013
-Create several objects "sphere" primatives for example.
-Access the vertex level (for example) of the first object you created.
-Try to access the vertex, or other components, level of the other objects. You can't.
-Disable the 3DConnexion plugin, and it will work.
But, it was discovered throughout this post that if you disable the "auto" rotation center option then this problem does not occur. This latest driver still has the same problem when "auto" is enabled.

Re: Maya 2013 Component Selection Bug
Using 3.16.1 ought to have helped. Try leaving "Auto" active but disable "Use selected item".

Re: Maya 2013 Component Selection Bug
Unfortunately, I need to have "use selected item" enabled, and I prefer to have "auto" also enabled. It should work fine with both options enabled. It used to work fine. It has always worked fine in 3ds Max.

Re: Maya 2013 Component Selection Bug
On 3ds Max, it works fine but the application behaviour is different. The issue is the "control vertex" selection being cancelled in Maya when a new point is picked by the add-in (which must happen on selection change if the "use selected item" option is active).
If you must have "use select item" enable, you may want to try select the "control vertex" using the right mouse button (instead of first selecting with the left mouse button and only after opening the context menu with right mouse button click).

Re: Maya 2013 Component Selection Bug
I can still reproduce this bug in 3.16.1.We have made an improvement to the Maya plug-in that should help in the scenario you reported. The update will be available in 3DxSoftware v. 3.16.1 which is to be released soon.

Re: Maya 2013 Component Selection Bug
With "Auto" selected and "Use selected item" unselected, Maya deselects the selected item when the camera is moved. This is on 3.16.1. Disabling "Auto" functions as a work around, but isn't ideal. Unchecking both "auto" and "use selected" seems to mean that I can only rotate around [0,0,0] and with "use selected" and nothing selected, I get the same issue.ngomes wrote:Using 3.16.1 ought to have helped. Additionally, Auto seems to function correctly when there is only one object in the Maya scene.

Re: Maya 2013 Component Selection Bug
Just installed Maya 2014 onto a Windows x64 platform and tried to use, but unable to select components, no right click option at all, disconnect the Space Pilot Pro and restart Maya and all OK, any ideas on how to fix this?
Re: Maya 2013 Component Selection Bug
I experience this problem with Maya 2015 SP2, Mac OS X 10.9.4. 3DxWare 10.1.2, SpaceNavigator FW 4.04.

Re: Maya 2013 Component Selection Bug
Confirmed still a problem.
This has been one of the most pervasive and confusing issues I've had with this awesome device. I'm really surprised this rotation/deselection issue hasn't been fixed yet. Took forever to find this thread. Disabling Auto has fixed the issue and I thank whoever found that workaround as this could have solved many hours of frustration, uninstalling, and re-installing the software drivers.
Using Space Navigator w/ 3DxWare v10 and Maya 2014 on Win7 x64.

Re: Maya 2013 Component Selection Bug
Ok i see this is still an issue in some circumstances with some objects, when trying to select a vertex or an edge, the selection completely disappears. Only way to get it working again is to unplug the 3D mouse. But then I also found that if you disable the blue rotation icon, set it to 'Hide', then that also seems to solve the problem.

Re: Maya 2013 Component Selection Bug
Ok no, that previous solution I offered doest work either, my bad. But definitely, when you disable 'Auto' under 'Rotation Center' it works again. There is some bug there. Im using Maya 2016

Nobody cares at 3DConnexion. I consider that device dead and use a tablet.
