GUI for customized Axis/Buttons

Post by Zero9195 »

Hello fellow SpaceMouse users,

I just recently bought a SpaceMouse Pro and i'm very happy with it. But I'm not happy with the new driver. I read in many posts that you can customize the axis and buttons behavior in a GUI, but it seems you dropped the feature with the newest update. Is it true?

If it is, are you planning on adding it in a later version?

I know I can manually edit the .xml files as I want. I'm just asking about the GUI.
If you're not planning on doing a new one, I might code one myself. It will probably help a lot of people who aren't familiar with XML.

Thanks for helping out here,
Zero

No comment on this?
So far the community and mods seemed rather friendly so this is a bit odd...

I don't want to start coding if this is already in development xDD

Expecting a response in less than 24hrs, especially on a weekend, might be a bit much.

I can't comment on what 3Dx plans are........but an XML editor that allowed people to create their own profiles and edit Axis and Buttons settings for those.....would be great.

Alright, thanks for the input.

I will make some plans and get started soon I guess. Just have to find out what attributes there are and what you can set there.
Is there a list of stuff you can configure or maybe a config which contains a lot of information? That'd be a great help.

I'll probably create another topic on this later ;)

Base.cfg contains the master list. The AppCfgs are just subsets of the contents of Base.cfg.
In addition, you can create your own App-specific macros.

Thank you! This helps a lot.

I noticed this though:

Code: Select all

<ActionID>LongPressButton_16</ActionID>
Is there a "LongPressButton_X" for every Button? or just on some devices/buttons. This one is from SpaceMouse Pro.

That's just SMP. Theoretically, it could be for all buttons, but I enable long press on only 4 buttons.
You can't do much with those.

True enough... But for completeness I should include those too. Thanks. I'll shout if I need help with something ;)
As soon as I start developing I create another Thread for it so you guys can see the progress.

Did you already start the GUI project? I'm really surprised to see that so few are missing the old GUI from the beta driver. I would love to have it back or at least a standalone alternative.
