Post by patrocle »

I'm under vistax64 and it's impossible to install the Configuration Wizard application for the Space Navigator, it freeze and the driver use 100% CPU charge for no effect, I'm obbliged to terminate the process for my computer reponds again....
Anyway, it just doesn't work, can you release a working driver for Vista X64 ?
thanks

Hello Patrocle:

Thank you for your question. Please refer to the following FAQ regarding Vista drivers. viewtopic.php?t=43

We will be asking for beta testers at some point in the near future.

I am interested in beta testing, please count me in.

I was a bit disappointed to see my SpacePilot being the only device that is currently "useless" on vista x64.
I tried using the XP x64 driver and saw the same effect patrocle described.
If I remember correctly it was possible to use 2.8.2 on Vista x86 RC1.

Hi Hendrik,

Could you let us know which applications (supporting our devices) are you using in Windows Vista?

Solid Edge [V18, V19] (mainly)
(Google Earth, Office, Photoshop, Autocad)
soon and if possible on Vista Bussiness N x64: CatiaV5R15, Inventor11

CATIA is running nicely, waiting to be able to help testing the new driver.

Hi RBC9:

We will make a beta available as soon as possible. We will need some beta testers for both x86 and x64.

We will inform as soon as it is available. Our goal is to have a release as close as possible to the Microsoft commercial release.

Is there a mailing list or will "potential" beta testers have to check the forums frequently?

I'm also very interested in Beta testing for Vista X86. I use my SpaceNavigator in the following programs (now only on my XP SP2 machine):

- AutoCAD 2007
- 3Ds Max 9 (as soon as it works on Vista, :( )
- Maya 8
- Sketchup 5 (can’t wait for 6 to arrive)
- Google Earth
- Photoshop CS2
- Photoshop CS3 Beta
- Illustrator CS2 (?)
- Indesign CS2 (?)
- Office 2007 (?)
- Maxwell Render (would be very nice to see support in this program. I guess they would really like to cooperate. just a guess based on how the company 'feels')

I hope you can use one more critical eye...

Hello everyone:

You can download a beta for MS Vista (32- and 64-bit) from the 3Dconnexion website by visiting http://www.3dconnexion.com/support/4a1.php.

After selecting your product which will be supported on Vista (SpaceNavigator PE, SpaceNavigator SE, SpaceExplorer, SpaceTraveler, SpacePilot, SpaceBall 5000 USB, and SpaceMouse Plus USB), select Windows and then the 3DxSoftware 3.1.1 (beta) download.

As this is a new OS platform running in many different user environments amongst different customers, your feedback is very important. We would appreciate your posting frequently with as much data as possible so both our development and product management teams can review and evaluate. We appreciate all your help and input, and please post in the beta forum at viewforum.php?f=18.
