I'd really appreciate a quick-and-dirty "driverless mode" where the unit simply pretends to be a USB keyboard and sends certain keystroke combinations for every button and movement.

(Or rather, is this already a possibility?)

Craig try the MAC Beta.
This has the Keyboard assignment ability. You still have to make the profiles for the Application your going to be using.
Its available on our main site click on Supported software then on far right choose 3DxLablabs

Hello hoishing -

3D-Coat has support for our devices in their Mac versions.

It is in the Supported Applications for both Mac and Windows.

Autodesk Maya 2013 and 2014

Alias Design and Alias Automotive.

These is the best app for industrial design, and you dont support it on OSX.
Its a real shame.

Sketchup. Yeah I know it shows up on the list, but I am having so much trouble with the current software release that I wonder if it is really being supported.
