2D Lock

Post by Mr. B »

I've just taken delivery of my SpaceNavigator and absolutely love it. Using 3D is now much easier. There's just one thing I'd like to know; is it possible to have some kind of temporary 2D lock whilst working in a 3D CAD application? Whilst creating 2D sketches I usually prefer to work in orthogonal views. Unfortunately the SpaceNavigator is then redundant because I find it impossible to use it for pan and zoom without also tumbling, even a tiny amount. Perhaps there's a setting I've missed, if there isn't then I think it would be a good addition.

Hi Mr. B,
open your driver GUI within your application (by default, use the right SpaceNavigator button, or double click the 3DxWare icon in the tray). Depending on which application you use, you should be able to set 'Rotations' to any of the two SpaceNavigator buttons. Pressing the button within the application will deactivate rotations, pressing it again will activate them again.
Cheers,
