Normal to... not normal?

Post by paulpounds »

I've been using my 3Dconnexion space navigator for a long time now, and it's nary given me trouble. However, my computer at work has recently been "upgraded" (although my Solidworks now chugs, go figure) and I needed to set everything up again.

So I go to set the right button on my navigator to "Normal to" for Solidworks and I can't figure out where in the settings the option is. I use the "Solidworks Panel Fn" function to bring up the dialog where one usually changes these things, and how I recall setting up the buttons in the past... but I can't find the standard views options and I can't find Normal To anywhere.

Am I doing this wrong? Have I caught a bad case of the stupids, or what?

I've got the latest software drivers, and I'm using Solidworks 2008 SP5.

Anyone able to give me step-by-step instructions, or at least point me in the right direction? I'm really confused.

Hi paulpounds,

unfortunately this function is not available for mapping with the current addin. We are aware about this problem and are working on this issue. Internally this is tracked with ID 5119.

When do you think this will be fixed as I use to use that function all the time and it's really annoying.
