SN, zooming mode 1 but the rotation like mode 2 possible?

Post by Smada »

I just got a space navigator and I feel uncomfortable with the way the zooming and rotation works.

I understand, that the difference between the two zoom modes is just another orientation of the coordinate system, unfortunately this includes the rotational axis.
I would prefer having the rotational orientation of the second zoom mode ( zooming in and out = moving SN forwards and backwards) while zooming with up and down.

Is there any way to accomplish this?

When you switch between the two different zoom modes, the config file switches between its HORIZONTAL and VERTICAL orientation. This currently does reorient both the translation and rotation vectors. This thread discusses the nomenclature for the axis mapping. Basically you want to change the AXIS_MAP_HRZ (and VRT)_USER for your device to be the same for each mode (HRZ = Horizontal, VRT=Vertical) in the saved scg file for your application.

Your saved configs are in %appdata%\3dconnexion\3dxware\profiles.
