Spacemouse wireless loses connection

I am working with macOS Sonoma on a iMac. The Spacemouse wireless is a great product. But very frequently the connection between the device and the iMac gets lost. Never during a working session but often after I am coming back from a longer break. In the meantime the computer was falling into sleep mode.
I there any solution to this? Do I have to make a certain setting on the driver or computer?
