MS Applications

I'm a support analyst for our company. A user is having physical difficulty using a mouse. Can any of the 3dconnexion products, replace a mouse?
For example can it function with MS Office applications and Win XP Window Explorer, and IE.

Our 3Dmice are actually navigation devices that are normally used in conjunction with a regular Window's mouse. There is no cursor nor clicker controls.
