two functions on single button?

Post by mr darcy »

Anyone know if it is possible to map alternate functions to a single button?

I want to swap between shaded and wireframe on one button, and between Design and Drafting on the other. Should be simple! I can map any of these single functions to the buttons.... but not multiple.

While dreaming... - how about both buttons at the same time giving a fifth function?

I couldn't find any support info on custom buttons anywhere.

thanks, Darcy

Hi mr darcy,

You can put multiple button presses on the same button (just define a long Custom Function macro).

You can not (with the 3DxWare Custom Function mechanism) specify that the assigned function change each time you press a button (to alternate). OTOH, most programs support VBA, and you could certainly write a VBA function that changed its behavior each time it is invoked. You can then invoke that function inside your program from a SN button. It will have to be assigned to a keyboard shortcut. The VBA function would have to maintain its own state.
