Configs lost on update

Post by Bowtie Bob »

I just recieved my new Space Pilot, and installed the software from the CD. I mostly use SolidWorks 2005, and have already gone through and set up a few configs. When I tried using it in AutoCAD 2008, it wouldn't work, but I assumed it was because of an old driver (the CD is dated 2005). I downloaded the latest driver (3.2.2), and now it works in both programs, but I have lost my configs for SolidWorks. The new driver, also doesn't seem to have any pre-loaded configs for Solidworks, unlike the one from the CD.

Is there a way to retrieve my configs? And more importantly, will I lose them everytime I upgrade the software?

After playing with it a little more, I seem to be unable to customize the buttons in SolidWorks 2005 now. When I try, there are no commands available to set the buttons to.

This happened to me also
At work I had to roll back to the last set of drivers to get my Space Pilot
to even function with SW2005 .
All my SW configs were erased and I was unable to set new one.
At home with Sw2007, the ESC through ALT buttons come in empty.
I reset them, but they won't stick. I think I'll have to roll my home computer back as well.

Bow,

Ive been able to reproduce the issue here with my 2005 version of Solidworks.
Ive created a ticket and sent this up to the programmers.

Gcode:

When you map the buttons use the control panel in solidworks, otherwise the 3dcontrol panel by the clock gets overwitten with the saved mapping from the solidworks control panel.

Just curious, but has there been any progress on this issue?

I rolled my drivers back one release and that solved the problem.
I haven't tried the drivers dated 5-1-07 yet. I think they are still
3.2.2 so I'm not realy sure what's going on

Bow,

Check your email.
I sent you the previous plugin for Solidworks.

Otherwise next release will have a patch for the issue.

Now if only I could adjust speeds for each axis in Solidworks...
