Spacenavigator in Solidworks 2005

Post by rwduggan »

Hello,

I am having a problem getting full functionality of the spacenavigator with Solidworks 2005. The pan up/down and zoom work fine. The tilt, roll and spin do not work at all. Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Bob

Hi rwduggan

Please make sure that you haven't disabled the rotations in the SolidWorks plug-in.

Hi,

I looked in the 3Dcontrol drop down (in Solid works) but didn't see an option for disabling Rotations. Where would I find it?

Thanks,
Bob

With Solidworks open click on 3dcontrol.
Make sure
pan/zoom
tilt/spin are selected.
uncheck dominant

Hi Fred,

I've made the selections you've recommended but I still do not have the tilt, roll and spin.

Is there a test applicatiion available that I might use to verify that my Navigator is OK?

Thanks,
Bob

go to the 3dconnexion folder in program files and run one of the demos to test it out.

Hi Fred,

OK, the Navigator works with the demo apps.

I did find a way to get it operating in SW; after starting SW, I go to the TOOLS/ADD-INS menu and I unselect 3Dcontrol. I immediatly go back, reselect it and I see the driver restart, then I have all functions.

Any ideas explaining why it won't operate fully the first time I start SW?

Thanks,
Bob

Close out of any running application and the 3d driver.
next.
Go to add\remove programs
Select the 3dconnexion and choose change
run a repair on the plugin.

P.S
Is this a student version of Soildworks?

I am having this same problem with my Solidworks 2005. I have tried all the solutions mentioned above, uninstalled and reinstalled Solidworks, and the 3DxWare, and tried to repair to no avail.
I would appreciate any help that is offered.
Demo's work, and Solidworks works after selecting and deselecting plug in, but doesn't work (tilt and pan) after restarting Solidworks.
Thanks
