3d max lock up

Hi - my space pilot is completely locking up my system with the latest drivers - Ctl+alt+del does not work and I have to hard reboot. the old drivers seemed to work fine.

It happens in max randomly. does not seem to happen in google earth.

any ideas?

I am sorry you have technical problems with our product. To be able to help you we need further information. Please provide details about your machine and operating system. You might also want to activate the 3DxWare logfile. Open the 3DxWare GUI and activate 'Write Log File' in the 'Tools' menu. As soon as you see the crash please post that file or send it by mail.

Sorry I have been away for a while - the problem is that it completely kills the machine. and only a hard reboot works. I'll have a go tho and see if anything is outputed to file.

This was a clear log file then
2 sessions on 3ds 8 - 1st one crashed
1 on 3ds 9 - fine this time but does crash.

Hi strangerthings,

Can you start the task manager before you start MAX and leave it visible in the corner? When your machine locks up, let us know which process is consuming all the CPU time.
