Is my Spacepilot dying?

Post by Bishop »

I've got a Spacepilot Pro at work, but at home I've got the old one, with the LCD dot-matrix display, and I think it might be dying. I bought it used, and I've had it for about 4 years now.

At rest, with no contact between my hand and the cap, things are slowly moving around on their own. It's almost like it's twitching. Running the calibration seems to take care of it for a minute or two, but then it starts twitching again. Sometimes unplugging it and plugging it back in will fix the problem, but it keeps coming back eventually.

This is happening across three different computers, and both the beta drivers and the latest non-beta drivers as well.

Machines are all Windows 7, one is Enterprise, two Home Premium.

Anyone else seen this happen? Got any suggestions other than to buy a new one? :)

Dear Bishop,

Calibrating the Device is about the only thing you can do. If it does not remain calibrated, you will probably be best off looking at obtaining one of our current devices.

Sincerely,
Bryan
The more things change, the more they remain the same. ; ^ )
