SPACE NAVIGATOR DOESN'T WORK

Post by JOHN »

I just got the Space Navigator PE, and can't seem to get it to work.
I got it primarily to use with Google Earth.
My operating system is Windows XP Pro.
The Space Navigator lights up, but just doesn't seem to work at all.

John,

What happens when you start the demos?
What OS are you using?
Were there any error messages when installing the software?
Do you have Admin permissions to install software?

What version of Google Earth do you have installed?

I'm using Windows XP professional. No problems when downloading the software. I downloaded Google Earth right before loading the SpaceNAvigator software, so I would assume that it is the latest version.
The SpaceNavigator works fine in the picture viewer mode (part of 3dx's software)
It says that the 3dx drivers are already running.

John open Google earth and click on help and about.
Let us know what version of Google earth you installed.

Also open the 3dcontrol panel while google earth is open in the background.
In the window it should say Google earth if not select the dropdown and choose google earth.
If it does not appear i would suggest reisntalling the driver from the website.
Before reinstalling close out all running applications.
Otherwise Windows Xp. will not allow the plugins to install.

Fred:
There is no google earth in the 3d control panel; and no google earth in the dropdown menus.
The version that I downloaded is 3.0.0529 (beta)

Fred:
Looks like the problem iwas the version of Google earth that I had downloaded.
I downloaded version 4, and now it seems to work fine.
Thanks for your help!
One more question:
Is there a way to focus in better when you get close up?

Google Earth is made up of stitched together satellite images. The resolution varies, generally sharper in urban areas. As far as I know, you cannot manually sharpen these images.
