function of buttons change without user input

Post by cadsite »

I use a spacepilot Pro in Solid Edge 5.
Normally this works perfect but there are days the function of all the buttons change spontaneously to TX only.
I already uninstalled and re installed the driver, but the problem doesn't go...

What can I do to prevent this terrible behavior?

Hello cadsite,

unfortunately we were not able to reproduce this behaviour and therefore cannot analyze the issue.

Could you please watch what exactly you were doing just before the switch to TX only happens?
Are you starting Solid Edge as a standard user or as an user who has administrator rights?
Do you open Solid Edge with an empty part or with no part? Do you see a difference if you change that?

I made my user profile a Admin user.
I can't see any pattern in this.

Am I the only user who has this problem??

Hi,

I'm also using the Spacepilot pro. I have a new one for two weeks. Till yesterday it worked perfect. I'm using it when working with Solid Edge St5.

I did some work at home (so I unplugged it) on the same laptop.

This morning when i started using the spacepilot, al the function key have the TX only setting.

Can someone help ?

Hello larsdijkshoorn,

please try the following:
  • stop the driver
  • stop Solid Edge
  • start regedit
  • delete this key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\3Dconnexion\3Dconnexion Add-In for Solid Edge
  • first re-start the driver
  • then re-start Solid Edge

A simple restart of the PC is mostly enough.

cadsite,
have you as well tried a simple re-start of the driver?

Yes, but that doesn't work.
After choosing for "stop driver" I click on "start driver", but than I receive a "The driver is already running" alert.

That sounds as if you do it too fast. Wait a while before you start the driver again.
