Spaceball 4000 FLX serial, no luck

Post by SB4000FLX-Owner »

Hi!

I just bought a Spaceball 4000 FLX (serial) and I am trying to use it. I tried may ways, which there might be no point in describing. I will just say this: I use a USB-to-Serial adapter and then connect the spaceball there. It beeps twice and XP recognizes the product name. I also got it in Device Manager under HID. But then it hid (hehe?). I tried a HID test program, and it didn't recognize any HIDs. I also tried to run hyperterminal to it, and I can see reactions when i press the buttons on the spaceball, but no reactions when I push or twist it. The most irritating thing is that I can't download the driver from spacetec for it. Any comments are welcome, I would appreciate it much! Thanks!

Hello,

To download current drivers go to www.3dconnexion.com
select support
download drivers
choose Spaceball 4000
select your OS
download 2.8.2 driver

3Dconnexion does not support any type of Serial-to-USB converter. Please contact your local reseller to purchase a USB device.

Hi SB4000FLX-Owner,
I use a USB-to-Serial adapter and then connect the spaceball there.
