Silent installation of driver version 10-6-4 x64

Hi,

I have installed using msi pacages for few years like it's instructed in 3Dconnection Admin Guide.
Same tips are also in C:\Program Files\3Dconnexion\3DxWinCore\silent_install.txt
Now the latest version of core package is causing trouble.

Our end users don't have admin rights. So I install software with my account, which has admin rights.
This one line will install 3Dxcore OK for my personal account.
msiexec /i "components64\3DxWinCore\3DxWinCore64.msi" /qn /log "%TEMP%\3DxWinCore64.log"
But when other users log in to same PC they don't "see" the whole software.
Control Panel - Programs and Features don't show line 3Dconnection 3DxWinCore at all for them.

They just get the attached long error message.
Here is the first few lines:
Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID
{A4231B76-79DD-4E1E-84EB-5684D74768E6} failed due the
following error:80040154 Call not registered (Exception from
HRESULT:0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)).

This CLSID is from TDx.ProfileServer.Manager

I can find these registry keys from my account
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\TDx.Controls
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\TDx.ProfileServer.*
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\TDxInput.*

But of course these keys are missing from other users using the same PC.

This was not a problem with version v10-5-13, which we used before.
Please do not propose to use InstallShiled setup.iss files.
I have too many different CAD systems setups to support.
Msi packages are easy to install and uninstall when they are done properly.

hi,

I have the same problem. You have to take a look at taskmanager if your 3DxProfileServer is running. if not, try to start it manually.
3Dconnexion is on this topic so with one of the following updates this will be solved.

Hello heikkuri,

yes, this issue (our internal tracking number is WIN-586) will be solved in our next driver release. Which will be available soon. :)
