SpacePilot Windows 10 Support

Post by mcd2000 »

Hello, I have managed to get my SpacePilot to work on my desktop PC using Win10 64 by installing "3DxWare64_v10-4-10_r2558" in window 7 compatibility mode. I figured it would work on my laptop but it has not. I understand that you stopped supporting this product in 2013. I feel like some others on here that you are trying to force people into upgrading to a newer product, which does not seem right. I'm not suggesting you continually spend time working on updates this product. But atleast one update to allow this device to work with Win10 would go a long way in showing support after the sale. I have a feeling you will be getting a lot more complaints soon as windows 7 support officially ends 1/14/20 and many will upgrade to windows 10 and therefore no longer be able to use this product. Please get us an update for Windows 10 Compatibility. If you don't support your customers, they will not want to buy more products that in the future you will no longer support. Thank you

Hi mcd2000,

the 3DxWare 10.4.10 does not need the compatibility mode. It is Windows 10 compatible.

No it is not certified for Win10 support, it's the last version certified for the SpacePilot, but not for Win10 because Win10 was not out at the time of release, which is why it has mixed results. Specifically this version: 3DxWare64_v10-4-10_r2558.exe

mcd2000,

believe me. The 3DxWare 10.4.10 is Windows 10 ready. But it is not the last available "official" driver version for the SpacePilot. This would be 3DxSoftware 3.16.3 (which you can find in our driver archive) and yes, this one was build in March 2013 and supports Windows 8 and lower only. Check your driver version.

3Dxware 10.4.10 is the last driver version that still has support for the SpacePilot included, but not officially supported, which means we did not take any steps to stop SpacePilot working, but it is not tested with newer drivers.
