Driver Installation issues - Error 1603 - Rollback - 3DxWare64_v10-6-0_r2972

Post by vertigo262 »

I am trying to install this driver after a windows update and it fails

I get an error 1603, as the installion Rolls back.

I tried these procedures which did not work

"1. Ensure all 3Dconnexion software has been uninstalled.
2. Unpack 3dxkmj_r9452_x64.zip to an empty directory:
3. Open an elevated command prompt (run as administrator).
4. Change to the directory where the zip file linked above was unpacked.
5. Run the following command to force the installation of sp3_display:
pnputil.exe -a 3dxkmj.inf
This command will output something like: “Published name : oem##.inf” where “##” is a two-digit number.
6. Run the command to remove the just-installed driver (make sure to use the correct file name):
pnputil.exe -f -d oem##.inf
7. Attempt a re-installation of 3DxWare with logs."

Attached is the log.

If anyone else is having this problem and a resolution, please let me know as I can't use my Spacemouse.

I've tried wiping as many files as I could find and trying to clean out the registry, Can't seem to get this driver installed.

Try this one:

1, Download 7-zip file archiver software and install it.
2, Right click 3DxWare64_v10-6-0_r2972.exe file and 7-Zip>Extract Here, and you'll see a 3DxWare64.exe file, right click on 3DxWare64.exe and 7-Zip>Extract to "3DxWare64\", then go to the 3DxWare64 folder, right click setup.exe and choose 'Run as administrator' to start the installation process.
