SpaceMouse Pro Wireless constantly trying to calibrate?

Post by tym »

I recently got the SpaceMouse Pro Wireless and find it's really annoying compared to my old wired spacemouse.
When I hold the puck at a certain position, the motion will gradually slow down and come to a stop. Then when I release the puck, it will start moving in the opposite direction for a couple of seconds and then stop.
It seems like it's constantly trying to compensate for it's drift or something?
It happens for both wireless and wired mode. And everything is fine with the old spacemouse.
Anyone is having the same issue? Is there a way to disable this?

Hello tym,

this is the first time I hear someone complaining about the auto-calibration that we implemented years ago into our firmware. Sorry that it bothers you. No, there is no way to disable this feature. :(
The device auto-calibrates when the cap is in the same position for 2 sec and the data sent is below a certain number (that I currently do not know).

Hi Uta,
Thanks for the insight.
I had the old space navigator for years and this really threw me off the first time I used it. As an engineer, I'd really prefer manually calibrate the device if it ever drifts (which never happened for my old one).
Having said that, this is not something that I can't get used to.
