Spacemouse Wireless only works when plugged into usb

I just got my Spacemouse Wireless yesterday and for some reason, it only works whenever I plug it into a USB power source. Whenever I have it unplugged from usb, the charge indicator LED lights up green, but the blue lights do not come on. The 3DConnexxxion properties application shows it as active, but it will not function in any supported programs.

usually when we deliver a wireless device it is paired with the receiver that comes together with the device. It might be for some starnge reason that in your case the pairing got lost. Please open the settings windows (e.g. from 3Dconnexion Home). Then click the little arrow on the right of the name of the device and the gallery with all connected devices will be shown. Select the Universal Receiver from that list and open the "Advanced Settings". There you can add your SpaceMouse Wireless to renew the connection between the receiver and the device.
