SpacePilot (not Pro). What is the last working driver?

Post by ekron »

In the driver "3DxWare64_v10-4-10_r2558" the Space Pilot is determined, but in "3DxWare64_v10-5-0_r2648" there is no
Do I understand correctly that the latest version in which the SpacePilot was supported is 10-4-10? Was version 10-4-12?

Why does it interest me so much, because in the available "3DxSoftware64_v3-16-3_r1447" there is no profile for ZBrush, and in 10-4-10 there is, but not complete, there is only zoom in and zoom out. Maybe there is a version in which it is fixed?
Sorry for my english)

Hello ekron,

yes, 3DxWare 10.4.10 is the last version that supports the SpacePilot. But this support is not official. 3DxSoftware 3.16.3 is the version that officially supports the SpacePilot.

  • You can find a list of supported applications on our website. zBrush is not listed.

In order to use it with 3Dconnexion devices, support for 3D devices would need to be added inside this software. Adding 3D device support to an application is determined by the application developer rather than by 3Dconnexion. We have an SDK [Development Kit] which any software developer can download at no cost and which allows the integration of 3D device support in proprietary software. Please see here for more details.

We advise our customers to contact the Customer Service of applications that are lacking support and request it be added in future versions of their software. The decision to include 3D support in their development schedule is often influenced by the level of customer interest.

I recommend that you contact Pixologic and express your wish to make clear that this is a demand from their customers.

The possibility to zoom in and out is provided by the driver for unknown (not supporting) applications by simulating a mouse wheel scroll.
