Blender 2.8 performance

Post by Splinters81 »

Has anyone tried any version of the Spacemouse with Blender 2.8?

I know its still in development so hopefully lots of room for improvement. There seems to be a massive difference between the performance of 2.79 and 2.8. The performance of 2.79 is buttery smooth when I try to navigate around. In complete contrast 2.8 is very stuttery and unresponsive. If I switch to a regular mouse and alt key for navigation its perfectly smooth. It definitely seems like something is interrupting my Spacemouse Enterprise talking to Blender 2.8.

Ill keep checking as it gets closer to a final release. I was just curious if anyone else had tried 2.8 and how their experience compared.

Hi Splinters81,

have you reported your experience to the developer community of Blender? The integration of the support for the 3D mouse in Blender is handled by the developers at Blender. They need to take action.

Enterprise lost up/down along Z axis in 2.8 here on Mac.

But as it works ok in 2.79 I am not that much concerned.
3D Navigators may not have the highest priority for devs at the moment though.

(In the past, Enterprise's App Switch recognition often failed to recognize
when I switched to Blender as my active App in general)
