Space navigator not booting after setting start as Administrator

Post by 4dxp »

Hello,
I had to set Solidworks to start as administrator because of a plugin. So now I had to set all 3Dx*.exe files to start as administrator too for it to keep working.
But now the mouse is not booting with windows and also the LCD is not lit up after reboot.

How to resolve this?
My windows user is set as administrator

Hello 4dxp,

you are starting SolidWorks with elevated privileges. The driver needs the same privileges to be able to communicate with the addin for the 3Dconnexion devices.

Either you change the start of SolidWorks (recommended) or you change the start of the driver. You can do it as follows:
  • Open the task manager.
  • Use the extended view by clicking to "More Details" at the bottom If it is not yet in extended view.
  • Switch to the "Startup" tab.
  • Right-click the entry "3DxService" and select "Properties".
  • Switch to the tab "Compatibility.
  • In the lower half of the window you will find a tick box "Run this program as an administrator.
  • Log out and in again.
