why is the windows driver UI so bad compared to MacOS

Post by scphantm »

I use my SpacePilot Pro on both my Mac and PC. I am constantly remapping sequences or adding macros or whatever to this thing on both OS's. the Mac driver is beautiful. It has a full graphic display that allows you to edit the commands right there in the screen, checkboxes to select modifier keys, everything you could possibly want to map a puck motion to.

Then comes this windows driver, which forces you to go back and reread the manual on how to program the stupid XML, then decipher what all the motions are, usually have to go and look up some HID codes, then debug it for ever. What takes me seconds to do on the Mac driver, usually takes me hours on the Windows driver.

Why don't you release a Windows driver that has the same editor as the Mac instead of forcing us to edit these complex XML's directly? Hell, you don't even have to release it as part of the driver, release it as a stand alone editor for all I care, but please, make this easier.
