Creeping rotation

Post by GMckeown »

I have had my Space Pilot for a few weeks, having used 3DConnexion controllers back to the serial Spaceball 4000 series and I've never seen this before.
After a while, my model (in SolidWorks) starts slowly rotating anticlockwise around the Y axis when I'm not touching the controller. The speed is dependent on the Overall Sensitivity control in the control panel, it is present in things like the Jet Demo as well as SolidWorks, and it can be stopped by hitting the Calibrate button. The big issue is that within a few hours of calibrating, it's back again.
I contacted Support and they pointed me to the Calibrate button, so they clearly hadn't read my description of the problem which was very similar to above.

I have updated the driver and it made no difference. It feels to me like a hardware failure - that something starts going wacky as it heats up or something.

Has anyone else seen this or have any other suggestion?
3 levels of anti-bot questions to register? Really? That can't really be needed.
