Hi Expohouse,

we are working on an update of the 3DxStudio plugin for 3dsmax. We plan to provide it with the next driver release. Unfortunately I don't have a release date.

Good to know I'm not the only one having trouble with 2018.

I'd like to add my name to the list of people waiting on a 3DS Max 2018 driver.

Feeling suddenly like I shouldn't have uninstalled 2017 since using my SpacePilot Pro is pretty much essential to me in 3DS Max now.

Answer of the technical Support Germany of 18.05.2018:

Wir arbeiten natürlich bereits am neuen Release. Leider lässt sich noch nicht abschätzen wann der Treiber veröffentlich wird. Ich vermute aber stark dass es sich noch mind. 2 Wochen dauern wird.

Do we have an update for the new drivers supporting 3ds Max 2018 please?

We have upgraded for several weeks now and still cannot use our devices.

We would be happy to test a beta release if there was on available to help move this forward. :D

Thanks and kind regards,

John

I notice that the current drivers 10.4.10 work with Revit 2018 but not 3dsMax 2018.

The reply above in German says they are working on it, they can't say for sure but it will be at least 2 weeks.

If it's of interest I find that my Wacom Intuos Pro touch tablet works perfectly with 3dsMax 2018 - not the pen, just the touch part for panning around a scene and zooming - strange, but useful until the space mouse drivers appear.

Hey,

I'd like to also be a squeaky wheel, and request that we get max 2018 drivers asap.

Thanks!

I got in contact with 3DConnexion and they got back to me on May 15th through email. They said the following:
The latest version of 3Ds Max supported by the 3DxStudio plugin is 2017. I believe 2018 is in a beta phase still, and we will update our plugin for the release.
Support should be added with the next driver release for this version, but that we do not yet have an estimated date for publishing it.
So, apparently we're just going to have to wait until they do release the updated version. I wish it was sooner rather than later. My workflow is SO much faster and more efficient in 3DS Max with my SpacePilot Pro than it is with mouse/keyboard view manipulation. I guess they aren't aware that 3DS Max 2018 shipped on April 13th. Maybe I'll reply back to let them in on the fact that it actually is released and not in beta.
