Windows 2000 OS Support

Post by hutton »

3dConnexion folks:

... perhaps you could give us a brief update on your progress.

I too am sitting on a new, unuseable SpaceNavigator because I am, and will remain, a Windows 2000 user.

Hello Hutton:

Thank you for your feedback.

We are currently testing an internal solution which is not yet ready for external beta. As soon as the beta is available, or as soon as there is a definitive date to its availability, we will make that known. I wish I could provide a date today, but we need a little more time due to the holidays. I can assure you that this is a priority for 3Dconnexion, so it should not be too much longer.

We appreciate your patience.

I have a PE version comming my way and found out today it only supports XP. I have no intention to 'upgrade' to XP so I'm happy to find you're working on it. I am a System and Application manager but at home I stick to Win2K for the reason it does exactly what I want, when I want it unlike some other O.S. software.

I hope to see an update of this thread soon...

Hello everyone:

You can download a Windows 2000 beta from the 3Dconnexion website by visiting http://www.3dconnexion.com/support/4a1.php. After selecting your product supported on Windows 2000 with the latest software (SpaceNavigator PE, SpaceNavigator SE, SpaceExplorer, SpaceTraveler, SpacePilot, SpaceBall 5000 USB, and SpaceMouse Plus USB), select Windows and then the 3DxSoftware 3.1.1 (beta) download.

Please share comments with us in thie beta forum at viewforum.php?f=17. We appreciate your patience during the interval in which we were preparing this for beta release.

Just installed the drivers and used my PE in Inventor/Win2K.

Works great so far! Thanks for the dedication.

Thanks for posting this feedback. Do let us know if you find any issue. Release 3.1 has some more beta milestones before the final release and we still have some scope to sort out the issues that come up.
