SpaceNavigator as a regular mouse

I am a little impatient so I wanted to ask this question .... forgive me if the answer is obvious.

Can I use my SpaceNavigator as a regular mouse in Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer.

Kirby,
Although the Space Navigator can not be used to emulate a standard PC mouse; if you download and install the Office Plug-in from: (www.3dconnexion.com/support/driver downloads)
you will be able to scroll in MS Office applications (such as Excel, etc).
