CTRL ESC ALT not Working - other Buttons are OK

Post by zimmernannm »

Hi,

i got the issue that ESC, CTRL, ALT and Shift are not working.
When I assign ather commands to this Buttons there is no problem.
All commands related to keyboard or mouse dont work.

I´m using Space Explorer, SW 10.4.4, Win 7 x64.

Tested for example with Application profile notepad and "Enter" or "Space" button.

Any help would be appreciated

Hello Marco,

I saw in another post from you that you are using XenDesktop. The problem is related to XenDesktop. They are blocking the "virtual keyboard" that simulates the keyboard macros.

We have heard that a customer received a “private” hotfix from Citrix in April this year. “Private” means it is only recommended to install in case the fixed issue appears on the system.
Citrix knows the issue with ID “LC4797 für XD 7.8” based on the customer report “SR# 70821083”.

FYI: The fix is named “LC4797“.
Note: Minimum VDA version is 7.6.300 ; Citrix mentioned towards the customer they will roll-out the fix to all future versions of the VDA.

Thank you, just requested Private Fix.
We´re Using VDA 7.9, will let you know if it works.

I was wondering if there are any solutions to this.
I have this problem with the latest drivers and 3dsmax 2019.

The device has been working very fine since I purchased it, but then this occurred very recently, this makes the device half-useless for me, very sadly.

A solution would be much appreciated, as the device is a must for me.

Thank you.

Hello boumay,

are you using XenDestop or any other remote solution?

No, I don't.
And the device has been working fine since the latest drivers.
And even the latests drivers, I was able to make these buttons work by selecting them manually pressing them.

At the opposite, another interesting issue, is that I couldn't register the other functions of max by pressing the keyboard keys directly as I always did. I was rather forced to navigate the drop down lists of functions to select every function for every button. Cumbersome...

And the funny thing is that, when ctrl, alt, shift worked (only one sadly), they were the only functions to register by pressing the key on the keyboard, and not by selecting for drop-down lists.

Hi boumay,

I am sorry, but I don't understand what you mean.

Does ESC, Ctrl, Alt work or not with your device?

If you want to assign a 3dsmax function to a button you can just start typing in the search field of the flyout in the button mapping window. For more details see as well our Help File -> SpaceMouse Customization -> Buttons.

Thank you for your answer.
I meant that some functions didn't work when I assigned them.

Also, the device was crashing my 3dsmax every single time without apparent reason. (other thread)

As nobody was answering to either, I was forced to reinstall my whole OS, and all the programs... 2days...

But i works now.

I experienced the same problem with the Ctrl, Shift, Alt and Esc buttons on my Spacemouse pro wireless. Using a macro for one of these buttons didn’t work, as mentioned, neither did the defaults. For now I’ve been using Shift lock instead of shift to clone objects in 3ds Max 2019, I have yet to check the 10.5.8 driver (using the 10.5.7) now, but was hesitant since you mentioned it kept crashing.
