Silent installation v10-4-3

Post by clayton »

I downloaded the latest driver 3DxWare64_v10-4-3_r2328.exe and tried the silent installation with the /Q option.
The installation failed with the error:

Error creating process <<None>>. Reason: The system cannot find the file specified.

Any idea what caused this? Thanks.

Hello Clayton -

For a silent install you will need to use the .msi files which can be extracted from 3DxWare64_v10-4-3_v2328.exe .

Extract 3DxWare64_v10-4-3_v2328.exe once to get the file 3DxWare64.exe , then extract again for the component folders - Components64 and Components32Shared. In the folder ...\Components64\3DxWinCore you will find 3DxWinCore64.msi. Install 3DxWinCore64.msi first - this is the basic driver, then you can add any other components or add-ins for the applications you are using - ie 3DxSolidWorks64.msi.

Switches for the .msi command lines are listed in the file ‘silent_install.txt’ [C:\Program Files\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\3DxWinCore64\silent_install.txt]
