Wacom Cintiq pen and space pilot ?

Post by poopsterspappy »

Hi,

So my big problem is my right hand(carpal and cubital tunnel  and my best solution thus far has been to model on screen with my Cintiq's pen. Would the Space pilot pro and the pen work well together? Could that be a comfortable combination? Thanks. Also, I'm running 3Dsmax , cry engine and zbrush on Windows 8.

Thanks again :D

I know that the SPPro works with 3dsMax, and I am fairly sure it works with the CryEngine, but I can tell you that you will have no luck with ZBrush.

The people behind ZBrush (Pixologic) have shown no interest in adding 3d device support to their product.

It will work with MudBox though... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pseMooguq5w

Thank you for that information. Do you know if the space pilot wacom pen combo is possible! Thanks....I can always return it if not but it never hurts to ask.

Hi poopsterspappy,

we don't have the Wacom Pen Combo here, so I don't have experience with it. I can just say that I cannot imagine any reason why there should be a problem with the two input devices.

i use both and it is great. I use Maya though and there are a lot of unresolved bugs. I've made multiple reports over the course of last year but no fixes. So, if you're using it with Maya.. it works.. mostly.. but there are quite a few annoying bugs that require you to work around them or just deal with it.

Personally if you can find a competitor that makes a 3d mouse, I would check them out first if you intend to use it with MAYA. :(

I am on Mac but I use a Wacom Cintiq 27 pen/touch and 3DConnexion Enterprise.

I mean Wacom drivers do strange things, 3DConnecion drivers do strange things,
but it is not that, when working together, they would do more strange things.
So they work together well.
