LOGITECH produces a vacuum

Post by spc_nav_usr »

I bought a SpaceNavigator and it does not work.

I cannot return it without a restocking fee and 3d connexion refuses to support it.

The puck is recognized by windows (XP), and I can get the interface software to turn the leds on and off, but no motion. Help.

Dear Spc_nav_usr,

Would you be so kind as to forward us a bit more information so we may do a complete and through job of trouble shooting your issue:

Operating Platform:
Application:
Application Version:
3DxSoftware Version:

What applications are you using your Space Navigator In?
Are you trying to use it to replace a mouse?
What behavior are you observing in the demos?

Under the 'App Configuration' Tab
  • Do you have Pan/Zoom enabled?
    Do you have Spin/Tilt/Roll enabled?
Sincerely,
Bryan G.

win xp sp2
3dxware
release versio 3.3.6
(Driver version 6.3.3)
Firmware Version 3.18
Device type SpaceNavigator

All programs do nothing when manipulating the puck.

The demos do nothing whenI move the puck. I can push the buttons and for example the r button will bring up 3dxware panel. Then under tools I can turn on/off the leds. But there is no motion.

Right now the pan/zoom is check and the tilt/spin/roll is checked. I have tried various combinations with no change.

I just noticed something else...

Post by spc_nav_usr »

It appears that the app configuration check marks change on their own. I can fairly consistently get a change by opening the jet demo and clicking on the plane with my mouse and then fiddling with the puck. Although there is still no movement, if i reopen the control panel tilt/spin/roll is now unchecked or dominant is checked or some combination of checking and unchecking...???

Hi spc_nav_usr

Please try to check "Pan/Zoom" and "Tilt/Spin/Roll". At first just omit "Dominant". Try to navigate in the demo. If it still doesn't work please contact 3Dconnexion customer support. You will find the relevant data here.
