Twist to Zoom etc. in Adobe Reader DC and Firefox

Post by Ad_ »

Hi,
In addition to CAD, I work with many pdf documents. I would like to customize the use of my spacemouse to allow me scroll, zoom and pan around these documents, via custom selected axis. In particular I like the 'twist to zoom' feature present in Word and would like to apply this to Adobe Reader DC, firefox and Mendeley Desktop (PDF organisation software with an embedded reader). The default mapping for Adobe Reader DC has a zoom axis that is very similar to the scroll axis. I had to turn down the zoom sensitivity significantly to make the interface workable. It would be nicer to assign the zoom to something else.

I have found the .xml files for all of these applications in \AppData\Roaming\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\Cfg, but have not been able to find an example in the forum to explain how to add new functions (rather than swapping axis). Any help appreciated.

Btw - I noticed that the xml files include 2 devices:
<Device>
<Name>Standard 3D Mouse</Name>
and
<Device>
<Name>SpaceNavigator</Name>

I presume this is normal and any settings applied to the 3D mouse would also apply to the SpaceNavigator?

Thanks
