Navigator settings disappear

Post by Zooney »

Everytime I start Solidworks (2007 SP 4.0) I have to set up the SpaceNavigator. It loses the settings for both the Zoom (Up/Down, Left/Right) and the right button setting. I installed on Wednesday and I have had the problem ever since.

Any ideas :?:

Zooney,

Where are you changing the settings for the device?
The 3dcontrol plugin in Solidworks will overwrite the 3dcontrol panel.
3dcontrol is located in between the tools and window.
click make sure pan/zoom, tilt/ spin/roll are checked
Uncheck Dominant.

next open the 3dcontrol mapping panel in solid works and map your buttons it should create a new profile that gets saved for when you open the program the next time.

To find out if its defaulting to a different profile
click start programs 3dconnexion /3dconnexion3dxware
show 3dcontrol panel
the window there will have solidworks your name . or it may just say solidworks
If it says solidworks use the dropdown and choose a diiferent profile.

That worked. I was trying to set the values by double-clicking the Icon in the systray. This seemed to get reset every time I opened SW.

Thanks
