I recently started having trouble with my spacepilot. Once the driver is activated the spacepilot is pinning my CPU. I simply can't work. Stop the driver and everything returns to normal. Is anyone else experianceing a similar problem?
Yes the SP works but all normal Windows functions (accessing menus, opening and closing programs, etc.) are heavily compromised. The only things new on my machine are normal XP updates.
Try creating a firewall rule and add 3dxsrv.exe to the list.
click start,
ctrl panel
network connection
right click local area connection
select advanced
settings
click on exceptions
add,
browse
go to C:
program files
3dconnexion
3dconnexion software
3dxware
select 3dxsrv.exe
Also try turning on the 3DxWare log file and see if any errors are being dumped to it. It will be saved in your %APPDATA%/3dconnexion/3dxware directory.
recalibrating the spacepilot seemed to help tremendously. Why I don't know, but it helped.
A 3D Mouse with an uncalibrated sensor behaves just the same as if the user was continuously pushing on the device cap. Depending on the application using the 3D Mouse data, it can put a very significant load on the system.
